Four varieties of apples: Jonathan: Tart and crispy. Great for baking. Ripens mid-September. Ida Red: Rich, sweet and creamy interior. Great for sauce and pies. Use as a background in combination with other apples. Ripens early October. Golden Delicious: Sweet yet mildly acidic. When fresh, the flavor and crunch are unbeatable! Lovely in sauces, pies and just plain eating. Empire: A cross between Red Delicious and a MacIntosh. Sweet and crunchy...these apples are my personal favorite for eating. |
