An apprencticeship position is available for Spring 2013. We are located
in beautiful southwest Michigan just 15 miles south of Holland, MI near
Lake Michigan and 2 hours from Chicago. Our cheese business is in its 5th
year of production. Animal care and dairy work is the focus of the
internship. Currently, there are approximately 34 kids, 5 bucks and 1 horse.
The position responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
* daily chores as needed
* assist in daily animal care including barn maintenance, pasture rotation, fencing etc.
We are looking for someone with a strong, flexible work ethic, a willingness to learn how to operate farm equipment and work with large animals. Housing, utilities and stipend are provided. 4 hours a day, six days a week with a minimum 3 month commitment needed. Contact Cathy at evergreenlanefarm@gmail.com for more information.
