An apprencticeship position is available for Summer 2011. We are located in
beautiful southwest Michigan just 15 miles south of Holland, MI near Lake
Michigan and 2 hours from Chicago. Our cheese business is in its 4th year of
production and animal care and dairy work is the focus of the internship.
Currently, there are approximately 40 does, 80 kids, 3 bucks and 1 horse.
The position responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
* daily chores in milking parlor and milk room
* assist in daily animal care including barn maintenance, pasture rotation, fencing etc.
We are looking for someone with a strong, flexible work ethic, a willingness to learn how to operate farm equipment and work with large animals. Housing, utilities and stipend are provided. 4 hours a day, six days a week with a minimum 3 month commitment needed. Contact Cathy at evergreenlane@wmwisp.net for more information.
