Buying a product just because it is locally grown isn't necessarily good enough. Ask questions about a grower's practices. Evergreen Lane Farm goes the extra mile...we try to conform to organic standards while not being officially certified. We provide pasture and browse to our animals, we treat our animals humanely and we pay our workers a living wage.
Here's a list of some of our favorite local eateries and purveyors of fine local food:
Food Dance -- Julie, Robb and Linda make Food Dance a great restaurant that supports SW Michigan seasonal, local food system. Our cheese can be found on the menu as well as in the market.
New Holland Brewery -- Where great beer meets great pub fare and local artisan cheese. We particularly like the Portobello Sandwich with local goat cheese! Imagine that...
Nature's Market -- Health Food Store in Holland, MI that has a wide variety of specialty items, local cheese and other goodies.
Pleasant Hill -- The best certified organic blueberries in Michigan!
Reserve -- An upscale wine bar and small plate experience in GR. Chef Matthew Millar and staff prepare amazing dishes using local produce, meats and cheeses. Try the charcuterie and cheese selection with your choice of wine.
Rustica -- A charming restaurant with a cozy, open kitchen feel to it. Right on the mall in Kalamazoo. Try Chef Chris Kidd's artisan cheese plate as a "First" to their fine, rustic European cuisine.
Salt of the Earth -- SotE is the gem on Fennville's Main Sreet. Chef Matt Pietsch and staff create pleasing seasonal menus using local produce, meats and, of course, local artisan cheese.
Summertime Market -- A charming three-season market located on Blue Star Highway on the Douglas side of the bridge that connects Douglas with Saugatuck. Our cheese is sold there along with many other local cheeses, fruits, vegetables, and meats.
The Produce Station -- A wonderful wine, cheese and produce shop right off of I-94 in Ann Arbor, MI. They have a fabulous selection of American artisan cheese as well as imports. The wide variety and beautifully displayed produce is a feast for the eyes and palate.
